 Community Gardening Project The Metz Bridge Traveler Community The Metz Bridge traveler community supported by funding and advice from Middlesborough Borough Council arranged a one-day community horticulture workshop. Staff from a local nursery worked with residents and children to plant up twelve hanging baskets and six half-barrel planters. Everybody seemed to have a really good time and the resulting baskets and barrels really brightened the place up. The whole process was also filmed for use in an ITV Tyne Tees documentary called ‘Flower Power’ a documentary that will take a closer look at the use of community horticulture in urban communities and its use as a means of urban regeneration.
